We got the chance to try out the restaurant in the hotel which is called <a href=\"https:\/\/jiaoxi.maisondechinehotel.com\/en\/dining.php\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/jiaoxi.maisondechinehotel.com\/en\/dining.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u521d\u98df\u8ed2<\/a>, known for the roasted duck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">So you&#8217;ve made it out of TP and you&#8217;ve found yourself with the droves of people decending on Yilan. Sack that off and head over to JiaoXi. You could either go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/eatingintaipei.com\/mu-hot-spring-hotel\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/eatingintaipei.com\/mu-hot-spring-hotel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MU Hotel<\/a> or you could go and check out Maison de Chine Hotel Jiaoxi for some food, instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">If you want to book a night class=\"has-text-align-center\">The menu at \u521d\u98df\u8ed2 in Maison de Chine Hotel Jiaoxi is large, but you could always go for one of those set meals, which is exactly what we did. But, because we are over indlugent fools, we also added on a meat dish, too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Roasted crispy baby duck set menu<br>$2988<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_103513329.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12726\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">This is a pretty packed full salad right here. You got some fancy brocolli, some lettuce leaves, tomato, onion, seaweed, and a couple abalone, too. It was good, but perhaps a little overdressed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_103856544.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12727\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The vegetables are done in the duck oil, and were tasty enough, but nothing to go nuts about. I, for one, and am a fan of those tiny shrimp on top. But it doesn&#8217;t need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_104028705.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12728\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Not much can make a whole crispy duck look appetizing when presented like this, but&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_104057595.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12730\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The chef went to work, and he sorted everything right out for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_104103723.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12731\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_104400140.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12735\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Let&#8217;s be real, how good does that look? I will tell you right now &#8211; it tastes even better than it looks! <br><br><strong>Think: crispy skin, fatty skin, succulent meat, duck flavour<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Crispy barbecued pork<br>\u8106\u76ae\u53c9\u71d2 cu\u00ec p\u00ed ch\u0101 sh\u0101o <br>$650<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_104146580.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12732\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">There was a reason why we had to order this as an extra &#8211; we had done our homework. You absolutely cannot let this opportunity pass you by at Maison de Chine Hotel Jiaoxi. Actually, I would even say that this pork may be more worthwhile than the duck&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_104329549.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12733\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">They serve the pork with thinly sliced lemon, which struck me as a bit weird. That was, until I paired it with the pork, and then my whole world changed. <strong>What an incredible accompaniment lemon is to pork.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_104714927.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12736\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">And then came the congee. I am not too fond of congee, especially after I have gorged on meat throughout the whole meal to have this finishing the savoury dishes off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_105306786.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12737\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Honestly, the congee was fine. It was tasty enough, it had plenty of things all thrown in, but I think I am just not a congee kind of man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/pxl_20201107_114028950.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12738\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">So if the congee wasn&#8217;t filling enough, then just wait until you get 4 balls of taro paste thrown your way.
